Blackwell & Associates were engaged to assist in the redevelopment of the Perry lakes site providing full landscape architectural services for the redevelopment of the site of the 1962 Empire and Commonwealth Games.

The history of the sporting stadium is embedded in the redevelopment through the retention of a number of key features including interpretation through landscape design and public art elements.

Sustainability was an important focus for the redevelopment. Major water savings have been achieved and extensive use has been made of recycled materials.
