Our chosen theme for the hard and soft landscape work, including the conceptual design for the "Success Playground", was based very much around the site's history. This multi-age, multi-ability playground is based around the “Success” boat theme and the upstream navigation of the Swan River. Dubbed the “best playground in the Southern Hemisphere” by the Premier at the opening - the challenging and unique playground is proving immensely popular. The bulk of the playground is custom designed and houses a large number of specific artworks.

Special features include the maritime inspired cantilevered lookouts, woven copper entry signs and custom designed barbecues and a series of terrazzo "compass" and "boating knot" details at each path intersection.

Many of the above items incorporated art works by artists Steve Tepper, Anne Neil, Simon Gauntlet and Margaret Dillon.
