The brief for this playground was to cater to children of different age groups and abilities and actively encourage them to use their imagination. We chose a 'jungle island' theme with a large 'smoking' volcano lookout as the centrepiece to provide vertical relief which could be used to build-in certain conventional pieces of play equipment,

such as slides and slippery poles, without them requiring independent access structures, such as steps and ramps. Artworks by Steve Tepper and others add another dimension to this theme.
